Emma Harris and Maria Gherman will be volunteering for the Athens Legal Support Project which provides support to asylum seekers in Greece as well as Greek lawyers handling their cases. Emma and Maria will be assisting as part of the remote support team, providing legal advice and support for the team in Athens. Maria will also be volunteering in Athens to assist with case preparation on the ground in July.
The project, organised by the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association and in conjunction with a Community Centre in Athens, aims to assist individuals following the humanitarian crisis in Syria in the preparation of their asylum appeals and with family reunification.
