Mediator

Luke is an experienced and focused advocate with wide experience across civil practice. Before joining Chambers, he worked as a County Court Advocate for a nationwide solicitor’s firm, attending over 4000 hearings over an 8 year period.

Luke is a CEDR accredited mediator and has experience representing parties at mediation.

 

Civil

Luke is regularly instructed to attend matters encompassing all areas of Chambers’ civil practice including landlord and tenant, personal injury and consumer contract work. He has gained particular experience in holiday compensation claims representing passengers against airlines for delayed or cancelled flights.

He has further accepted instructions regarding enforcement, representing High Court Enforcement Officers in applications concerning the seizure, retention, or disposal of goods.

Luke regularly appears and advises in matters concerning both personal and corporate insolvency.

He is regarded as a specialist in residential landlord and tenant and accepts instructions on behalf of private landlords, tenants and local authorities.

Property

Luke has experience of representing both freeholders and leaseholders in the County Court or First Tier Property Tribunal regarding service charge recovery and leasehold extension matters. He has also attended final hearings regarding unlawful eviction and land registration disputes at the Tribunal.

Notable Cases

G Ltd v AB & C Ltd (2020)- One day trial before a QBD master, successfully defending a claim of unlawful seizure of goods made against High Court Enforcement Officers.

LM v SH (2017)- Two-day Land Registry tribunal trial successfully acting for the applicant in unwinding an adverse possession registration
