Nahid has worked in house as a Barrister at TV Edwards Solicitors and also at two smaller inner London Solicitors firms.

She has also worked as a management committee member at Newham Asian Women’s Project, an East London domestic violence charity.

Nahid has extensive experience as a Pro-Bono advisor at a legal clinic in Clapton, giving free legal advice to members of the public in all legal areas.

 

 

Family Law

Nahid is a specialist in all areas of Family Law, with a particular specialism in child arrangement orders, and public children’s law matters. She is extremely dedicated in getting the best outcome for her client and her meticulous attitude has led to her building up a thriving practice in children’s matters.

Nahid has acted for parents in complex child arrangement matters ranging from obtaining contact orders for her client, as well as enforcing or varying court orders. This work has included a multi-jurisdictional element, when a child has been unlawfully removed from the UK.

Nahid has represented clients in complex ancillary relief claims, including settlements of assets after divorce, sometimes including multi-jurisdictional disputes. She also has experience of divorce proceedings, including nullity and contested divorce.

She has represented parents in public child law proceedings, including defending accusations of neglect non-accidental injury and domestic abuse. These are very often very intense and harrowing cases which involve very emotive issues, and she is very driven in achieving the best outcome for her client.

Immigration Law

Nahid has worked for appellants in immigration and asylum hearings in the First Tier Tribunals and Upper Tribunal. She has also often represented the Home Office at the First Tier Tribunal and therefore has a good perspective of the legal issues from both perspectives.

She has extensive experience in immigration matters, including asylum, EU Law, entry clearance, bail applications, entry clearance, human rights, student visas as well as judicial review. In addition, she has experience in drafting appeals to the Upper Tribunal as well as applying for and representing judicial reviews matters.

Criminal Law

Nahid has worked as both a defence advocate as well as prosecution counsel, representing the CPS in both the Crown court and the Magistrates court.

She has dealt with cases involving, common assault, actual bodily harm, grievous bodily harm, fraud, misrepresentation, public disorder offences and driving offences.
